Get answers to common questions about Half Arms.
Most clients enjoy smooth Half Arms for three to six weeks, depending on hair growth cycles, hormones, and aftercare. Consistent waxing can slow regrowth and reduce thickness, extending time between appointments. We recommend booking every four to six weeks for maintenance.
Waxing causes brief, manageable discomfort as hair is removed from the root, unlike painless shaving. Pain reduces with regular appointments and experienced technicians. We use techniques and soothing products to minimize sensations and calm the skin immediately after waxing.
Ensure hair is about quarter-inch long for effective removal; exfoliate gently 48 hours prior, avoid heavy lotions or sun exposure the day of, and arrive clean. Inform your esthetician of medications or skin sensitivities before waxing.
Yes in many cases. Our estheticians assess skin first and can adjust wax type and technique for sensitivity. Active breakouts, open wounds, or certain skin conditions may need to be treated first. Always disclose medications and recent treatments.
Hair should be at least a quarter inch (about five to seven millimeters) long so wax can grip properly. If hair is too short, waxing may be ineffective; if too long, trimming slightly helps. Our staff can assess and trim when needed.
Avoid hot showers, heavy sweating, and sun exposure for 24 to 48 hours. Apply soothing lotions or aloe as directed, exfoliate gently after 48 hours to prevent ingrown hairs, and avoid tight clothing on the waxed area for a day or two.
